Elle a été proclamée lieu historique par la Ville de Bathurst, des spécialistes ont établi son âge à plus de 200 ans et voilà maintenant que la Maison Doucet-Hennessy reçoit un appui de taille du ministère du Tourisme et Parcs du Nouveau-Brunswick, qui confirme le financement d’une étude à deux volets.
